In Season 2 Episode 5 Leonard pre-occupation with his experiment, which requires him to work in night-shift, makes it impossible for him to drive Sheldon to the university. As a result Sheldon ends up asking favors from Penny, Howard and Rajesh. Later the friends finally tell Sheldon to get a driving license for himself and take the responsibility of driving himself to university. After Sheldon’s visit to the Department of Motor Vehicles, ends in the DMV worker getting annoyed at him, the gang tries to teach Sheldon by setting up a simulation for him in the living room after which the gang discovers that Sheldon is a horrible driver. Later, Sheldon gets his driving license, but to avoid driving, moves into his office till the time Leonard has to work in night shifts. The episode ends with Leonard enjoying a peaceful stay in the apartment for an extra week as he forgets to inform Sheldon about the actual end date of his night shift
