In Season 2 Episode11 Leonard meets the award winning scientist David Underhill, who is not only his intellectual superior but also a handsome, charming, and cool guy. Although Leonard is initially wary of this man who has both brains and looks, he jumps at David’s offer seeking Leonard’s help in a research he is undertaking. However, Leonard’s happiness turns to jealousy when David shows an interest in Penny who reciprocates the feelings. Meanwhile, Sheldon, who feels the holidays to be a ritual rooted in obligations rather than holiday cheer, is surprised to receive a Christmas gift from Penny. Feeling obligated to get a return gift for her, Sheldon seeks the help of the reluctant duo of Howard and Rajesh in choosing the perfect gift. Later Sheldon is convinced that he has chosen the most logical gift by purchasing many bath gift items of various sizes and costs. However, when he opens Penny’s gift, he cannot believe what she has got for him.
